“Fear Not – God is with Us”
 Scripture: Psalm 34:4
 
“I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

Devotion:
I love to hear and “sing” the song, “Trust in God” by Elevation Worship. One of the verses says, “I sought the Lord, and He heard, and He answered, and that’s why I trust Him.”  Take a listen, it will bless you, just as today’s verse should.  Fear is something we face, like fear of the unknown, fear of “what’s next” when we receive an unfavorable health report, fear of failure, fear of loss, even fear of not being good enough. But like David, who wrote this Psalm, we must know to take our fear straight to the Lord – we serve a God who will never fail us. He is a Healer and a prayer answering God!

No, our circumstances may not change right away, one may have to face mastectomy surgery, chemotherapy, or even radiation, but even in that, God wants us to trust Him through the journey. During this Cancer Awareness Month, know that God can change our hearts and free us from the grip of fear in the midst of it all! He is ready to meet us in our fears and walk us through them. God promises not just to listen, but to deliver. We must be reminded that He did not give us the spirit of fear, so just like He delivered David, know that He will deliver you and I from fear itself.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to honestly, confidently and truly bring all of our fears to You; the fears that we speak of and also the ones we hide and keep to ourselves. Thank You for being a God who listens, cares, and delivers. Give us the peace that goes beyond our understanding, and help us to trust You in every fearful situation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
