Life in the Spirit
Scripture: Romans 8:1-3 NLT and KJV
"1So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. NLT
Condemnation – the act of condemning."
Condemn – to express an unfavorable or adverse judgment on; strong disappointment of; to sentence to punishment. To pronounce to be guilty. “Not guilty”, we could have been condemned in our sin for repeatedly breaking God’s holy law. Without Jesus, we would have no hope. But, thank God for His Son Jesus and His shed blood. He has declared us not guilty and has offered us freedom from sin and the power to do His will. Imagine, “not guilty” depending on one’s personal strength and ability in order to overcome sin. The Holy Spirit working within us is the finished work of Christ, our faith is that finished work on the Cross. (The help of the Holy Spirit guarantees Victory.
In life, we must put our faith in God and His promises to help deliver and heal us, making us whole. Don’t doubt or second guess God’s word, just Believe. Encourage yourself by standing on God’s word. Commit scriptures to your heart and mind. We can stand by speaking the truth over our hearts, minds and souls until our deliverance comes, and we obtain the victory in Jesus.
2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. NLT
This life-giving Spirit is the Holy Spirit. He was present at the creation of the world, and He is the power behind the rebirth of every Christian. He gives us the power we need to live the Christian life.
If we could live our best life on our own, what need would there be for Jesus’ shed blood. All life comes from Christ, but through the Holy Spirit without failure, what Christ did at the Cross makes this life possible; which has made us free, we’ve been given total Victory!!!
The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus alone is stronger than the law of sin and death. If we being Believers attempt to live for God by any manner other than faith in Christ and the Cross, we would be doomed to fail. We must not just believe, but trust God and in His word. To Live an Authentic Life!!!
3 The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. NLT
Those under the Law had only their willpower, so despite how hard they tried, they were unable to keep the Law then, and the same inability persists today. The Holy Spirit will not function in any matter if we try to live by laws in this world system. We are helpless and unable to save ourselves. We need and have a Savior.
Christ was human, conformed in an appearance to flesh, but was sinless. Christ, through the work on the Cross, destroyed the power of sin which made it possible for sin to be destroyed in our flesh. Christ, and the life He lived, proves to us today that living a holy and righteous life can be done today. With the Holy Spirit and other factors in God’s Word applied to our lives, we have the victory to live and live again.
Prayer:
Thank You for Your Holy Spirit which guides me and does not condemn. Help me to know that I have victory in You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
