"True Discipleship"
Scripture: John 8:31
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word,
then are ye my disciples indeed;”

Devotion: How do we know if we are a true disciple of Christ? Well, in our final devotion
for this week, we turn to the Epistle of John. Jesus tells us in His word how to determine
true discipleship. In this scripture He is speaking directly to believers and lets us know
that if we remain faithful to His teachings, then we are truly His disciples. Jesus gave us
everything that we need to remain true disciples. All we must do is look in His word.

As we study the word, let us always ask God to give us revelation and understanding to
hear what He is saying in the scriptures. The more constantly we are talking with Him
and spending time in His word, the more we will be able to follow and hear in the spirit.
As we prepare to end this week of devotion, let us remember to remain faithful to His
word and uphold the tenets of our faith. If we do these things, then we can be sure that
we are true followers and disciples of Christ.

Prayer: Lord, we thank You for Your word and the instructions that You have given us to
follow in our walk. As we end this week, we ask that You help us to be true disciples and
show us how to win other disciples. We know that if we follow the examples You’ve
given us in the scripture, we will be Your true disciples. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
