“Unbelievable Sight”

John 16:13
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Devotion:
As I read the passage of scripture: John 16:13, automatically I think of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, for They are one. So, like Jesus which said, I do not exalt myself, but I speak what the Father has given me. The translation, "he shall not speak of himself," does not correctly communicate the truth of John 16:13. I believe a more accurate rendering of the Greek text would be: "He shall not speak on His own initiative." The Holy Spirit receives His message and instructions from Christ; believers ought to talk about and rejoice in the work of the Holy Spirit.

I am a firm believer that before we do something or make a decision, we are to consult God's Word and He (the Holy Spirit) will bring it to remembrance what we should do and how we should do. This is our testimony on how we overcame it. Depending on the situation or how personal a situation is, we share it with our fellowship. Praise God, thank you Jesus. Some stuff is personal, and it is between you and God, but we give Him the glory for His victorious Holy Spirit who is our Wonderful Counselor, our Keeper, and God with us. Amen and be blessed...
