“They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Devotion:
Throughout the Word of God, we find many references to the importance of being fruitful. It is not possible to be connected to God and not grow. God created everything with a purpose, and He expects it to serve that purpose. From the sun providing warmth and light to the plants and animals providing food and sustenance. Today’s Scripture uses the symbolism of a fruitful tree to describe someone who places their trust in God. When we place our faith and trust in God, the impossible becomes possible. When we are rooted and grounded in Jesus, we stay connected to the main source.
Jesus came to give us living water so we never have to thirst again. We don’t have to fear what the enemy brings our way if we stay rooted and grounded in God. Even in times of ‌drought, God can sustain us and cause us to prosper. God fed the children of Israel bread from on high in the wilderness. Joseph had a surplus in the time of a famine and was able to save his family. The widow’s oil overflowed and allowed her to pay off her debt and take care of her family. I could provide more examples, but our fruitfulness stems from obeying and relying on God. When God is at the heart of everything we do, we can’t help but be fruitful.

Prayer:
Lord, help me trust You in every area of my life. Help me fulfill the purpose You have placed in me. I desire to be faithful and fruitful in everything, so that You receive the glory. Amen.

“The Law Fulfilled”

“He said to them, ‘This is what I told you while I was with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.’ Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.” 

Devotion:
It’s amazing to know that God’s plans and thoughts for us supersede anything we could ever want or desire for ourselves. It’s also a blessing to know that God had a plan for our redemption from Genesis to Revelation. In today’s Scripture, Jesus is explaining to His disciples that His suffering, death, and resurrection were the fulfillment of the entire Old Testament-the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms. He then “opened their minds” to understand the spiritual meaning of these Scriptures.

The understanding was the foundation for the disciples to proclaim the repentance and forgiveness of sins to all nations, starting from Jerusalem. The disciples, who were previously confused, had their minds spiritually opened by Jesus to grasp that He must suffer and rise again to redeem a fallen world back to God. Jesus came to do what the law could not do, He crucified flesh in the flesh and thus fulfilled the law forever. The beauty of God’s Word is that everything points us to Jesus. He is the true vine that enables us to be saved by God’s grace, filled with the gift of the Holy Spirit, and connected as the Body of Christ. His life is an example for us to follow in living a life of purpose and being about our Father’s business.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for sending Your Son Jesus to fulfill Your Word. Thank You for the plans You have for my life. Please help me live a life of purpose, submitting to Your will daily. Amen.

Devotion:
In today’s Scripture, Jesus gives His disciples ‌“The Great Commission.” He tells them to “go and make disciples of all nations.” Jesus starts the command with a declaration, letting His disciples know God has given Him all authority in heaven and on earth. This is important because He is letting them know they don’t have to be afraid to go forth and share His Word. Spreading the gospel is a charge given to all believers. When something good happens to us, we immediately want to share that news with others. Well, being saved by the redemptive work and sacrifice of Jesus is the best news of all. We were headed for eternal darkness and death, but now through Christ we have the gift of salvation and eternal life. We have been redeemed back into God’s family. It is our job to share the “good news” with others.

Jesus said, share it with “all nations.” That means we have to share it with people who don’t look or act like us. I truly believe that in this season God is calling the true believers to rise and come together in unity so we can be about His business, which is soul-winning business. The Scripture ends with Jesus reassuring the disciples and letting them know He is with them always. It’s a blessing to know we don’t have to fulfill the purpose God has placed in us in our own strength and ability. Jesus has empowered us with the Holy Spirit to keep and guide us.

Prayer:
Lord, help me be about Your business. Let Your light shine in me so that others will glorify You. Unite us as a body of believers so Your Word can go forth all over this land. Save, deliver, and set free in Jesus’ name. Amen.

“Leaving Room for Others”

“And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.”

Devotion:
At first glance, Leviticus 19:9 seems like an agricultural instruction for ancient Israel. But beneath the surface is a powerful spiritual principle: God builds generosity into the rhythm of obedience.

God commanded His people not to maximize profit at the expense of others. By leaving the edges of their fields unharvested, they created space for the poor, the foreigner, and the vulnerable to be provided for with dignity. This wasn’t charity rooted in convenience—it was intentional restraint fueled by compassion.

This verse reminds us that not everything God gives us is meant to be consumed by us. Sometimes obedience means leaving room—room for others to be blessed, room for kindness to grow, and room for God’s heart to be reflected through our actions.

Heart Check:

• Do I hold tightly to what I have, or do I leave room to share?
• Am I willing to inconvenience myself for the sake of compassion?
• How does generosity reflect my trust in God’s provision?

Application:
Today, think about the “edges” of your life—your time, resources, energy, and attention. Ask God where you may be harvesting too closely. Leaving room may mean pausing to help someone, giving when it’s costly, or choosing generosity over efficiency. Trust that God will provide more than enough when you live with an open hand.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being generous with me. Teach me to live with the same generosity toward others. Help me trust You enough to leave room for compassion, kindness, and justice in my life. Use what You’ve given me to bless those around me. In Jesus name’, Amen.

Devotion:
Proverbs 22:8 presents a sobering but loving truth: what we sow, we eventually reap. Our actions are seeds—planted daily through our choices, attitudes, and words. Seeds can take time to grow, but they never remain dormant forever.

This verse reminds us that injustice, harshness, dishonesty, or anger may seem unnoticed at first, but they eventually produce consequences. The “rod of fury” represents power or control used without righteousness. God assures us that such power is temporary and ultimately broken.

Yet this proverb is not meant to instill fear—it is meant to invite wisdom. God’s intention is not punishment but redirection. He desires that we sow seeds of integrity, mercy, humility, and righteousness, which bring peace and life rather than destruction.

Heart Check:

• What kind of seeds am I planting through my words and choices?
• Are there attitudes—anger, resentment, pride—that I need to surrender to God?
• How can I intentionally sow righteousness today?

Application:
Today, pause before you act or speak. Ask yourself, “What kind of harvest will this produce?” Choose to sow kindness where bitterness might come naturally, patience where frustration waits, and honesty where shortcuts tempt. God honors seeds planted in obedience and wisdom.

If you recognize unhealthy seeds from the past, remember this: repentance can interrupt the harvest. God is merciful and faithful to restore when we turn to Him.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to be mindful of the seeds I sow each day. Guard my heart from injustice, anger, and pride. Teach me to walk in wisdom and righteousness, trusting You with the harvest. Thank You for Your grace that redeems and restores. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Devotion:
Jesus often used simple, everyday images to reveal deep spiritual truths. In Mark 4:31, He points to something almost insignificant—a mustard seed. Small, easily overlooked, and unimpressive by human standards. Yet Jesus uses this tiny seed to describe the Kingdom of God.

The lesson is clear: God delights in working through small beginnings. What seems too little to matter—a short prayer, a quiet act of obedience, a step of faith taken in fear—can become the starting point of something far greater than we imagine. Growth in God’s kingdom is not always instant or dramatic, but it is certain when God is the source.
We often hesitate because we feel inadequate or believe our contribution is too small. But Jesus reminds us that size is not the issue—faith is. When placed in God’s hands, even the smallest seed can grow far beyond what we expect.

Heart Check:

• Have I been dismissing something small that God wants to grow?
• Am I waiting to feel “ready” instead of trusting God with what I have now?
• Do I believe God can use ordinary moments for extraordinary purposes?

Application:
Today, offer God what feels small in your life—your time, your gift, your obedience, your yes. Don’t underestimate what God can do with it. Faithfulness in small things creates room for God to bring about lasting growth.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for reminding me that You work through small beginnings. Help me trust You with what seems insignificant and be faithful where You have placed me. Grow Your purposes in my life according to Your perfect plan. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Devotion:
Jesus paints a vivid picture: a field ready for harvest, overflowing with opportunity—yet not enough workers to gather it in. The problem is not the harvest; it’s the shortage of willing laborers.

Before Jesus sends anyone out, He calls them to pray. This reminds us that God’s work always begins with dependence on God. The mission is urgent, but it is never meant to be carried out in human strength alone. Prayer aligns our hearts with God’s purposes and prepares us to be part of the answer we are asking for.

Often, when we pray for more workers, God starts by shaping us. The prayer is not only about others going—it’s also about our willingness to step into the field where God has placed us.

Heart Check:

• Do I see harvest around me, or am I too distracted to notice?
• Have I been praying for workers without being willing to serve myself?
• Where might God be inviting me to step out in obedience?

Application:
Today, pray intentionally for God’s work in the world—your community, your church, your family. Then pause and ask a second question: “Lord, how do You want to use me?” Be open to small steps of faith. The harvest often begins right where you are.

Prayer:
Lord of the harvest, open my eyes to see the opportunities You’ve placed around me. Raise up workers for Your kingdom, and make my heart willing to serve wherever You lead. Help me trust that You equip those You call. Use my life for Your purpose. In Jesus name, Amen.

Devotion:
This verse reminds us that God is both the source and the multiplier of everything we have. Paul uses the imagery of farming to help us understand a spiritual truth: seed is given not to be stored away, but to be sown. Bread meets today’s need, but seed prepares for tomorrow’s harvest.

God provides what we need right now, and He also provides what we need to invest in His purposes. When we give—whether it’s time, resources, kindness, or faith—we are not losing; we are sowing. And God is faithful not only to replace what we give, but to increase it in ways that produce lasting spiritual fruit.

The “harvest” God enlarges is not just material—it is a harvest of righteousness. He is more concerned with shaping our character, deepening our faith, and extending His love through us than He is with increasing our possessions.

Heart Check:

• Do I trust God with what I’ve been given, or do I hold onto it tightly?
• Am I more focused on my supply or on God as my source?
• How is God inviting me to sow generously today?

Application:
Today, take a moment to recognize what God has already placed in your hands. Ask Him how you can use it for His glory. When you give with faith and obedience, trust that God will supply what you need and grow something far greater than you can see.

Prayer:
Lord, You are my provider and my source. Thank You for supplying both my daily needs and the seed You’ve placed in my life. Help me to give generously and trust You fully. Use what I offer to produce a harvest of righteousness that brings honor to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Love That Leads to Purpose”

He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? Devotion:
After the resurrection, Jesus meets Peter where failure once spoke the loudest. Three times Peter had denied knowing Jesus. Now, three times Jesus asks a restoring question: “Do you love Me?” Not “Why did you fail?” or “Are you sorry?”—but a question aimed at the heart.

Jesus’ focus reveals something powerful: love is the foundation of calling. Each confession of love is followed by a commission—“Feed My lambs… Take care of My sheep.” Grace does not end with forgiveness; it restores responsibility and renews purpose.

Jesus shows us that our past does not disqualify us when our hearts return to Him. He transforms failure into testimony and shame into service.

Heart Check:

• Am I letting past mistakes define my future?
• Where is Jesus inviting me to respond in love today?
• How is my love for Christ shown through care for others?

Application:
Today, hear Jesus asking you personally, “Do you love Me?”
Answer honestly—and then live it out. Love for Jesus is not proven only by words but by faithful care, service, and obedience in everyday moments. Let grace move you forward, not hold you back.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for meeting me with grace instead of condemnation. Restore what failure has shaken and renew my sense of purpose. Help me love You deeply and show that love through how I serve others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“From Doubt to Faith”
Scripture: John 20:25–27

“The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.”

Devotion:
Thomas often gets labeled as “the doubter,” yet his struggle is deeply human. He wasn’t rejecting Jesus—he was wrestling with disappointment, grief, and unanswered questions. Thomas wanted proof because belief felt risky again after the trauma of the cross.

What’s remarkable is how Jesus responds. He does not shame Thomas, rebuke him harshly, or dismiss his doubts. Instead, Jesus meets Thomas exactly where he is. He invites Thomas to examine the wounds—the very scars that prove love, sacrifice, and victory.

Jesus’ words, “Stop doubting and believe,” are not a condemnation; they are an invitation. Faith does not mean the absence of questions—it means bringing those questions to Jesus and trusting Him with them.

Heart Check:

• Where am I struggling to believe right now?
• Have I been keeping my doubts from Jesus instead of bringing them to Him?
• Do I believe Jesus is patient enough to meet me where I am?

Application:
Today, don’t hide your doubts or fears. Bring them honestly to Jesus. Just as He did with Thomas, Jesus will meet you with grace, compassion, and truth. Faith grows not by pretending everything is fine, but by trusting Jesus in the middle of uncertainty.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for being patient with my doubts and gentle with my fears. Help me bring every question to You instead of pulling away. Strengthen my faith, and remind me that You are always willing to meet me where I am. Help me move from doubt to trust, one step at a time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“God Gives the Increase”
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 3:6-7

“I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.”

Devotion:
Paul reminds us of an important truth about our role versus God’s role. He said in the Scripture that he planted seeds and Apollos watered it, but the true impact came from God alone.  God gave the increase!

This verse is humbling to me. It reminds me that we are not the source of results, because no matter how hard we work, how well we may teach the Word, or how much we serve, we cannot produce spiritual growth, God is the source of ALL growth.

God calls us to be faithful in the responsibilities of sharing the Gospel, being faithful disciples, spreading love, and diligently serving His people. He handles the outcome! It is God who will cause a person’s heart to change.

Sometimes we will feel discouraged when we don’t see immediate results, whether in ministry, relationships, or personal growth, but this Scripture encourages us to trust that God is working behind the scenes. He causes growth in ways we cannot see. So, stay faithful. Keep sowing. Keep watering - and trust God for the increase.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that You are in control of all growth. Help me to be faithful in the role You have entrusted to me. And give me strength to keep going, even when I don’t see immediate fruit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Break Up the Fallow Ground”
Scripture: Hosea 10:12

“Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.”

Devotion:
The prophet Hosea delivered this message to the Israelites as a call for them to repent. He referred to “fallow ground,” an agricultural term describing land left uncultivated, as a metaphor for parts of their lives and ours that have grown hard, neglected, or unresponsive to God. This verse speaks to the condition of our hearts.

In our lives we face times of disappointment, distractions, sin, or simply busyness that can cause our hearts to grow dull. We may find ourselves still doing our usual spiritual tasks, but deep down inside we sense that something is “off,” something has become hardened. It is at these times that God may come to us in a still small voice, as He did with Elijah in the wilderness, encouraging us to soften our hearts before Him. The verse says, “for it is time to seek the Lord,” which encourages us not to wait until later, but to seek God Now! The longer we take to repent and seek the Lord for forgiveness, the more comfortable we may dwell in that state.

In seeking Him, we must pray, study His Word, and turn away from harmful, sinful practices. If we desire to experience God’s promised compassion and loving-kindness, we must choose to live in obedience and in His will.

Cast your cares upon Him, He is able to heal and restore your relationship with Him.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, search our hearts and show us anything that has caused us to become hardened or distant from You. Help us to break up the fallow ground in our lives and return to You. Thank You for Your promise of mercy when we seek You. We ask that You make our hearts soft, responsive, and fully devoted to You so that we can produce good fruit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Break Up the Fallow Ground”

“Rest is a Command, Not a Suggestion”
Scripture: Exodus 34:21

“Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.”

Devotion:
God commands His people to rest, not only during calm seasons, but even during the busiest and most critical times like planting and harvest.  This may sound odd to us because we feel that we must work during those critical times to avoid lack.  We all know people who will voluntarily work 7 days a week because the extra hustle will help to provide for their families.  However, God intentionally commands that we rest on the Sabbath to teach a deeper truth, that our provision does not come from endless labor, but from His faithfulness.

Resting is an act of trusting God. It helps us to develop a closer relationship with Him. And when we take that rest, especially when life feels demanding, we declare that God is in control. We act on faith, trusting that God will provide what we cannot.

Resting the way God commands is not being lazy; it is being obedient! Jesus even went to quiet places to avoid the crowds, not because He was lazy, but because He was aligned with the Father. Rest kept Him grounded, focused, and obedient.

Let’s be reminded today to rest, knowing that God will provide, God will sustain, and God will finish what He started.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for caring about every part of my life, even when I need to rest. You know when I have reached my limit, and You lovingly call me to rest and trust You. Forgive me for the times when I’ve relied on my own strength and got burnt out because I did not pause. Help me to see rest as an act of faith, not weakness, and to have confidence, knowing that You are working on my behalf. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
