It is where our thoughts, desires, attitudes, and decisions are formed. What we allow in our hearts eventually shapes our words, our actions, and our character. A diligent heart is intentional about what it embraces and what it rejects. It welcomes God's truth while refusing bitterness, pride, fear, envy, and unforgiveness. Jesus taught that what comes out of a person's mouth begins in the heart. Therefore, when our hearts are filled with God's Word, our lives begin to reflect His love, wisdom, and righteousness.

Guarding our hearts is not about living in fear but about protecting the precious work God is doing within us. Just as a gardener carefully removes weeds to protect healthy plants, believers must continually examine their hearts, allowing the Holy Spirit to remove anything that hinders spiritual growth. As we spend time in prayer, worship, and studying Scripture, the Lord transforms our hearts to become more like His. A diligent heart remains sensitive to God's voice, quick to repent, eager to forgive, and faithful to obey. Today, ask the Lord to search your heart so that all you do will be pleasing to Him.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for reminding me that from my heart flows life. Help me to guard it with diligence and wisdom each day. Search my heart and reveal anything that does not honor You. Remove every trace of pride, fear, anger, unforgiveness, and unbelief, and replace them with Your love, peace, faith, and compassion. I surrender my heart completely to You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

His prayer is that God would strengthen their hearts and keep them so they will be ready when Jesus returns. We can apply this same prayer to our lives today. Each day our prayer should be, Lord create a clean heart in me, and renew a right spirit within me.

We are living in difficult times, and it seems like new headlines arise each day with more bad news. But God! God is able to strengthen and keep us if we submit to and obey His will for our lives. The joy of the Lord is our strength no matter what is going on around us. We can have the peace of God abiding in our hearts if we trust, lean, and depend on Him. God is faithful! We don’t know the day nor the hour when our Savior will return, but we want our hearts to be right so that we can go back with Him.

Prayer:
Lord, please continue to strengthen my heart daily. Help me to keep my mind stayed on You. Let Your love rest, rule, and abide in me. Amen.

Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.”

Devotion:
In today’s Scripture, Jesus is teaching his disciples to discern false prophets. He lets them know the importance of recognizing a person’s character by the fruit they bear. There are many false teachers and people claiming to represent God. They appear to be good, but their fruit tells a different story. If I claim to be a child of God, others should not see me sowing seeds of confusion and division. Instead, I should sow love and peace. A good tree bears good fruit, but a rotten tree bears rotten fruit.

As children of God, our fruit should follow the Fruit of the Spirit; we must be mindful of what we say, what we do, and how we make people feel. God created everything and everyone with a purpose, and He expects us to fulfill the purpose He has placed in us. In order to live a life of fruitfulness, we have to remain connected to the true and living vine, Jesus Christ. When we stay connected to Him, good fruit is inevitable.

Prayer:
Lord, please help me exemplify the Fruit of the Spirit. Lead and guide me in Your will for my life. Help me bear good fruit in You. Amen.

When you spend your time and energy focused on what you don’t have and wanting what others have, you will never have peace. Especially if you are basing it on the curated and picture-perfect versions of life you see on social media. Jealousy or envy stems from insecurity and low-self-esteem. God wants us to be secure in His love for us and the purpose He has for our lives. He wants us to be confident in who He has created us to be and walk boldly in that purpose. He gave us each a unique fingerprint for a reason—even identical twins have different fingerprints—He did not make us clones.

Today’s Scripture lets us know that a heart at peace gives life, but a heart of envy destroys life. We know that where envy is; its first cousin, strife, is waiting to rear its ugly head. Both breed confusion and evil works. However, God wants us to rest in His peace. That means instead of focusing on what others have and my lack, I’m going to embrace an attitude of gratitude. When I see someone else being blessed, I’m going to praise God with them, because I serve a great God who’s not short on blessings. If I see someone freely using the gift God has given them and walking tall in the purpose He has for them, I’m going to celebrate because we are kingdom workers in unity for God’s glory. When we are truly grateful and focused on the goodness of God in our lives, we won't have time to allow envy to fill our hearts. Instead, we will be too busy praising God for all of His mercy, kindness, and goodness toward us.

Prayer:
God, thank You for Your peace. Remove any envy or jealousy from my heart and in its place put an attitude of gratitude. Amen.

God desires to be at the center of our hearts above anyone or anything else. An idol denotes false worship, but worshipping God denotes true worship. What is on the altar of your heart? God is calling us to put to death anything that serves our earthly nature. Once we received the gift of salvation, we became new. We no longer have to give in to our fleshly desires; we can, through God’s Spirit and power, crucify the flesh in the flesh.

Jesus showed us the greatest example of how to live a life free of sin. He crucified His flesh while living on earth, and He crucified it again on the cross for our sins. When we allow the temptation of sin to overtake us and give in to our earthly desires, we dishonor our Savior. God is calling us higher for the work He has for us to do; He desires for us to crucify our natural desires so that His Spirit can fully have His way in our lives. We are not doing this by our own power or strength, but we have the gift of the Holy Spirit to keep us. We must willingly submit to God and obey Him.

Prayer:
Lord, cleanse me from the inside out, crucify my flesh daily, and let Your Spirit alone lead and guide me. Amen.

They are tricks the enemy used to keep friends, families, churches, countries, governments, etc. from uniting in love and peace. If you look around at what you see in today’s society, it is apparent that the love of man has waxed cold. But God! God’s love is never cold nor lacking. God is love! It is important that we, the children of God, make sure that we sow peace and not confusion. What we plant is what we reap. If we are planting confusion, we are going to reap confusion. If we plant love, then we will reap love. We live in a time where divisiveness, hatred, the “me mentality” and petty disagreements cost lives each day. However, God has called us to be the example of His peace on earth.

If we want to reap righteousness, then we have to sow peace. As God's children, we should not match energy or allow our emotions and feelings to guide us. Instead, the Holy Spirit should lead and guide us. We must exemplify the Fruit of the Spirit in our daily lives. Guess what? Peace is one of the key components of the Fruit of the Spirit. God is calling us to die to being so easily offended and emotionally immature and live to be His peacemakers on this earth! Are you sowing peace in your home, on your job, in your community, in your church?

Prayer:
Lord, help me be a persistent sower of Your peace. Lead, guide, and order my steps in Your will for my life. Help me rebuke confusion and division and embrace Your peace and love. Amen.

Physical circumcision biblically was an outward sign of being a part of God’s covenant, traced back to Abraham. However, the circumcision of the heart is an inner manifestation of the work of God to cleanse us from the inside out. God does not just want us to appear and look holy; He wants us to live and be holy. Circumcision requires cutting, just like a plant has to be pruned for it to grow; we require pruning as well to spiritually grow. God has to cut away all the things that hinder our walk with Him–pride, anger, unforgiveness, hurt, etc. God wants our hearts focused on serving Him, and not on the distractions of this world. When our hearts are free of clutter and debris, God’s Word can take root and grow there.

The more God removes the impurities from our hearts, the stronger our relationship and connection with Him becomes. We can freely serve Him with ALL our heart and soul. The last word in today’s Scripture is “live.” God sent His Son that we might have life, and that more abundantly. He wants us to live and not die! When we submit to the process of sanctification and allow God to circumcise our hearts, we become free and free indeed!

Prayer:
Lord, cleanse me from the inside out. Circumcise my heart daily. If You find anything that should not be there, please take it away. I submit to Your will for my life, and I desire more of You and less of me. Amen.

It is said that they wanted to make sure everything they used was brand new and had never been used for secular purposes because they recognized the power and holiness of God. Even those who did not truly serve Him understood that His presence must be handled with reverence and respect.

The instruction to prepare a “new cart” reminds us that God deserves our best, not leftovers or careless worship. Throughout the Word, things dedicated to God were often set apart and made new, symbolizing honor, purity, and devotion. God is holy, and He calls for us to approach Him with sincerity and obedience.

The cows that they chose represented something unused and set apart for a special purpose. This shows us that God desires hearts that are willing to be set apart for the Master’s use. He can use ordinary people for extraordinary purposes when they are fully surrendered.

Today, let’s think about what we are offering to God. Are you giving Him our best time, worship, service, and devotion? God honors hearts that approach Him with reverence and willing obedience. Being obedient to God will put us in the position to witness His power and direction in our lives.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to honor You with my whole heart. Teach me to approach You with reverence, obedience, and sincerity. I want to give You my best and be set apart for Your purpose. Lead me in Your ways and help me trust You at all times, even when I do not fully understand. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This means that our actions, words, and choices carry consequences. We will notice that when we sow seeds of kindness, obedience, and righteousness we experience God’s blessings and peace, while sowing seeds of sin and wrongdoing lead to sorrow and destruction.

We must take time to examine the seeds we are planting daily. Are we sowing forgiveness or bitterness? Faith or doubt? Love or division? Every decision determines the harvest that will come in our lives in the future.

Job’s story also teaches us to be careful in judging others too quickly. While sowing and reaping is a biblical truth, suffering is not always the direct result of personal sin. Sometimes God allows trials for purposes beyond our understanding. So, let’s be mindful to respond to others with compassion, humility, and prayer rather than condemnation; trusting God to bring forth a harvest of peace, joy, and spiritual growth in our lives and in the lives of others.

Prayer:
Father, help me to sow seeds that please You. Guard my heart, words, and actions so they reflect Your love and truth. Forgive me for the times I have sown wrong attitudes or actions, and help me walk righteously. Teach me to show grace and compassion to others while trusting in Your wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

There are moments when serving, giving, praying, and standing in faith can feel exhausting, especially when we do not immediately see results. But Paul encourages believers not to lose heart or give up during those seasons of waiting.

Just know that God sees every act of obedience, every sacrifice, and every seed sown in faith. Even when progress seems slow, He is still working behind the scenes. We know that a gardener does not plant seeds one day and expect a harvest the next, because there is a process of growth that requires patience, trust, and perseverance.

This verse also reminds us that a “due season” is coming. Our Father has appointed a time for the harvest. The main thing is that we trust God and not faint under pressure. Weariness can tempt us to stop praying, stop believing, or stop doing good. But when we persevere, it makes us strong and more mature in our walk with God. Every act of kindness, every prayer, and every step of obedience matters in His kingdom.

Keep sowing in faith. Keep trusting God ~ The harvest is worth the wait.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, strengthen me when I become weary. Help me to remain faithful in doing good even when I cannot see the results. Give me patience to trust Your timing and courage to continue walking in obedience. Remind me that my labor in You is never in vain. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Yes, storms may come, but we will not be easily shaken, because our source is in Him.

The verse also reminds us that fruit comes “in his season.” Growth takes time. Sometimes we become discouraged when we do not see results from our prayers, obedience, or labor immediately. But we have to trust that our Heavenly Father knows the appointed season for every blessing. We just have to remain faithful, trusting that He will produce spiritual fruit in our lives.

The promise that “his leaf also shall not wither” speaks of endurance and spiritual strength. God will continue to nourish us if we continue to trust Him. Even in dry places, He provides strength so that we can remain resilient. Keep trusting in Him!

Prayer:
Lord, help me to stay firmly planted in Your Word and presence. Strengthen my roots so I will not be moved by life’s challenges. Teach me to trust Your timing and remain faithful while waiting for fruit to grow in my life. Let my life reflect Your goodness and bring glory to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Bitterness often begins with hurt, disappointment, or offense that is left unresolved. Over time, it can grow and affect our thoughts, how we communicate, and our actions.

God calls us to let go of destructive attitudes and replace them with forgiveness, kindness, and love. This does not mean ignoring wrongs or pretending pain does not exist. It means that we choose to surrender those hurts to God instead of allowing them to control us, because we do not want to hold on to anger that will fester and weigh down our spirits. I am a witness that when we forgive and trust God with our pain, we will experience freedom and peace. Jesus showed us the perfect example of forgiveness even while suffering on the cross.

Ask God TODAY to search your heart. If there is unforgiveness, resentment, or anger hidden within, allow His Spirit to heal you and help you walk in love. A heart filled with God’s love cannot remain filled with bitterness.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to let go of bitterness, anger, and hurt. Cleanse my heart and fill me with Your peace and compassion. Teach me to forgive as You have forgiven me and to speak words that bring life and encouragement to Your people. Help me to reflect the character of Christ in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
